F5 Networks will use GITEX 2016 to highlight how applications are more vital to business performance, security and availability than ever before.
“Security threats are evolving fast in the Middle East, and organizations need to be forward-looking if they want to remain relevant and trustworthy,” said Diego Arrabal, MEA Director, F5 Networks.
A recent Opinium Research study – commissioned by F5 and targeted at 1,000 UAE consumers – found that 86% believed that banks required greater authentication capabilities to bolster security. The figure stood at 81% for public sector and government, 78% for insurance and 76% for healthcare. EMEA-wide, 88% believed that all organizations needed to improve.
Reflecting local market concerns, F5 will be prominently showcasing application-focused access and identity services, and protection solutions that cover the entire network stack. This includes F5® DDoS Hybrid Defender, F5 SSL Orchestrator, as well as its fraud prevention products F5 WebSafe and F5 MobileSafe.
Hybrid cloud deployment will also feature strongly on F5’s 2016 GITEX agenda. F5’s SOAD found that 67% of businesses estimate up to 50% of applications will be hosted in the cloud by the end of 2016, indicating a growing appetite to split on- and off-premise.
F5’s main offering in this space is Silverline, a suite of managed, cloud-based security services that let organisations rapidly deploy enterprise-grade app services across hybrid environments, without the need for additional or upfront investments in IT infrastructure and support. The suite includes DDoS Protection and Web Application Firewall services.
